A Letter From The Writers
Songwriting is a hard, vulnerable process. It reveals weakness, insecurity, and takes laying aside preference and agenda for the sake of what is best for the whole. Over the last couple of years, the Lord has taught us as co-laborers in this endeavor that songwriting is not for our own fame. It is first and foremost for Him and for His people. Our prayer has been to write these songs for the church— specifically our church. Songs for us to sing to the Lord and over one another as we gather as one body. They are songs of celebration, songs of encouragement, songs of lament, and songs of rich gospel truth!
We have done our best to be open-handed in this process. To let what the Lord might do in us be enough if nothing ever moved further than the writing room, or beyond what took place in our own hearts. He has been gracious to allow us to sing these songs with you, and now to allow you the opportunity to have access to them in your homes, in your cars, and wherever else you take music with you. We hope that wherever taken, that these songs might always be vessels of praise to our King and edification for your souls. So, worship to them! Talk through the lyrics with your kids as they play at the dinner table. Open your Bible and meditate on the scriptures these songs were inspired by. More than anything, may the truths of God’s Word found in these songs wash over your soul and increase your worship of Him. And when Sunday brings you back to church, sing them with God’s people again and again.
Thank you for letting us share with you what the Lord has given to us. The title of this album, “My Confidence,” is a theme that we have seen woven throughout every song. One that has left a mark on this entire process and our own hearts as a result. We pray it will do the same for you.
